Bride & Blossom Featured Bride Marianna On Her Vera Wang Wedding Dress and Personal Touches

When it comes to weddings, what we really want to know about are the pretty details like the dress, shoes, and jewelry, and all those personal touches a bride adds to make her wedding day extra meaningful! This week we spoke to our featured bride Marianna about all the care that went into picking her gorgeous Vera Wang gown!

 

 

Part 2: Gown & Personals

When we asked Marianna about saying yes to the dress, she told us, “I knew I wanted a classic Vera Wang sweetheart ball gown. I only tried on four dresses, and the last dress was the one I went with. I immediately fell in love with the classic design and long bridal train. I knew it was the perfect dress because I felt like a princess.” Not many brides-to-be have it this easy in the hunt for a wedding dress. But take just one look at Marianna wearing her breathtaking Dagmar gown by Vera Wang and you can tell that it was meant to be. She completed her bridal attire with a sweeping cathedral veil, also from Vera Wang’s Iconic Wedding Collection.

 

For jewelry, Marianna kept her look simple and timeless, pairing exquisite pearl drop earrings and a diamond tennis bracelet by Mikimoto. But she made sure to have a little fun with her shoes. Taking care of her ‘something blue,’ she wore gorgeous Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps in royal satin blue with a Swarovski crystal decorative buckle. As she got ready, her bridesmaids adorned the bottoms with the heartfelt words “I Do.”

 

 

 

Marianna fondly looks back at those hours that she spent with her best friends before walking the aisle. “I loved getting ready with my bridesmaids. Especially the moment when we all jumped on the bed and through the rose petals you gave me in the air!” The bride had put in a special pre-ceremony floral request to Bride & Blossom, and we were more than happy to oblige.

 

We’d be remiss not to briefly mention the groom’s ensemble! Peter looked sharp in a Tom Ford tuxedo and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes. He answered his beautiful bride by spelling out the sweet message “Me Too” on the soles. “He looked so handsome! Very James Bond,” Marianna recalls.

 

 

From the décor and styling to fashion choices, Marianna’s elegant, yet sexy style could be sensed through out all the wedding details. Her bridesmaids wore black dresses, each with a different silhouette. The bride carried a round bouquet of lush ivory David Austin garden roses while her bridal party carried complementing bouquets of red freedom roses. The striking contrast of colors added drama to the entire affair. Just look at the portrait photos!

 

 

Ask any married couple and they’ll say that setting the tone for your wedding starts long before the big day arrives. Marianna and Peter chose celebrated wedding stationery designer, RSVP Today, to create their invitations. The classic letterpress design was marked by a lovely rose gold border, which framed the names of the bride and groom in script accompanied with event details in font. “Rose gold was a stylistic theme through out our wedding,” Marianna adds.

 

Now let’s talk about that 6-tier wedding cake! Marianna imagined her dream cake and brought her design to Master Sweets based in Brooklyn. Guests’ jaws hit the floor upon seeing the towering creation. “I had a very specific design in mind and wanted the cake to play into our wedding’s classic, black-tie aesthetic,” says Marianna. It’s always a good sign when a couple is willing to compromise on dessert. “We went with vanilla and chocolate. I love vanilla and Peter loves chocolate.”

 

And since we are on the topic of sweets…. Marianna chose her favorite sugary treat to thank their guests. “I love macarons and figured you can’t go wrong macaron favors baked by the Mandarin Oriental.”
