Bride & Blossom Featured Bride Aerin On Her Pronovias Wedding Dress and Personal Touches

In planning her own wedding, Bride & Blossom Featured Bride Aerin made sure that every element was personal and full of meaning. This week, Aerin spoke to us about finding her perfect wedding gown and how she incorporated family heirlooms into her wedding day.

 

Part 2: Wedding Dress & Personals

 Many brides-to-be approach the topic of wedding dresses with apprehension, knowing that the process can take weeks, even months in some cases. When asked about her experience, Aerin said, “ I was enjoying planning for my wedding so much that when it came time to find a dress, I was beyond ecstatic.” Early in her search, she came across a Pronovias dress in a bridal magazine. “My heart was set on it,” she recalls.” With fingers crossed, Aerin made an appointment with the designer’s flagship store in Manhattan to try the dress on in person. She remembers that special moment of looking in the mirror, “The dress fit effortlessly and I felt like it was meant to be.” Made of crepe and tulle fabric, the breathtaking Pronovias design features exquisite gemstone embellishment along the back trailed by a sweeping skirt.

 

 

Aerin wanted to keep her jewelry simple, and complement rather than compete with the shimmering accents of her dress. She accessorized with a pretty crystal Kate Spade cuff. “My earrings were ‘something borrowed’ from a family friend who works in the diamond industry. Because my dress was so sparkly, I didn’t want anything over the top. The earrings were a nice fit because they were understated and delicate.” Silver beaded Adrianna Papell shoes completed Aerin’s lovely bridal look.

 

 

 

The bride accessorized her ensemble with a gorgeous cascading bouquet featuring white peonies, lisianthus, garden and Tibet roses, and ranunculus accented by Italian ruscus vines and hints of olive branch greenery. Aerin’s simple and elegant style was expressed through the lush white blooms and greenery that marked the floral décor used in the ceremony and reception.

 

 

 

 

For wedding invitations, Aerin chose a classic letterpress design featuring elegant black type on white paper. A silver wax seal with the letter ‘H’ pulled the suite together, adding a sophisticated look to the presentation.

 

 

We love to see a bride include special traditions in her wedding day. Full of sentiment, Aerin and Steven’s Greek Orthodox ceremony at Holy Trinity Cathedral incorporated family treasures symbolizing a marital bond that spans three generations. The couple wore the same Stefana, also known as wedding crowns, that Steven’s parents wore when they married over 38 years before. Their Lambades, ceremonial candles, were the same candles that the groom’s grandparents used 58 years before at their wedding.

 

 

Aerin and Steven went the extra mile to make sure the day could be shared with those they love most. Looking back with fondness, Aerin says, “We are very blessed to have such an incredible family and are so glad we chose to include them in this very special moment that we will remember for the rest of our lives.”
