Featured Bride Madalyn On Her Carolina Herrera Dress and Personal Touches

One of the best things about working with brides is hearing about how they found their dream wedding dress and the personal touches that will go into making the big day extra meaningful. This week, our featured bride Madalyn shares the story behind finding her gorgeous Carolina Herrera gown!

 

 

Part 2: Gown & Personals

“I felt totally comfortable and like myself in my dress, which is exactly what I wanted for my wedding day,” says Madalyn. For many brides, finding the perfect wedding ensemble can be a daunting task. But the process came together effortlessly for this bride. “I found my dress at Carolina Herrera, and chose it because I thought the style was so classic and elegant,” she recalls.

 

 

Madalyn wore the stunning Frieda gown by the legendary fashion designer. The design featured a sweetheart bodice of satin paired with a tulle skirt embellished with exquisite floral accents. Madalyn made the look all her own with the addition of one subtle, yet modern detail. “I also wanted to do something a little edgy and unexpected,” she says. “So I decided to add a black velvet sash around my waist, which was tied in a bow in the back.” Madalyn completed her bridal look with a pair of Rene Caovilla shoes made of delicate lace adorned with bejeweled bows.

 

 

 

 

We love hearing the story behind the “something blue” tradition and Madalyn had a wonderful one to tell. She recalls, “My ‘something blue’ was a surprise from my amazing seamstress at Carolina Herrera: the letter ‘M’ was sewn in blue on the inside of my dress!”

 

 

 

The bride’s modern and elegant style was sensed though out the wedding details, from the décor, styling, and fashion choices. Accentuating the floral motif of her dress, Madalyn’s all white bridal bouquet featured lush peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus. Her bridesmaids wore black striking dresses, each with a unique silhouette. They carried petite, hand-tied bouquets featuring ocean song roses in a silvery lavender hue.

 

 

 

 

Madalyn and Jon sought the expertise of Guastavino’s catering to help create their 4-tier wedding cake. The chic, all white design featured black ribbon detail, which echoed Madalyn’s bridal sash. The couple made sure to have a bit of fun with their cake topper, which presented a groom sneaking a kiss from his bride within the frame of a painting. When asked about the adorable dessert ornament, Madalyn said, “I work in the art world and Jon and I share a deep love for art.”
