The Gorgeous Celebrity Brides of Summer 2019

 

With the start of fall just days away, we have been reflecting on the summer wedding season. And when it comes to luxury bridal fashion, flowers, and venues, the famous brides who walked the aisle this past season ignited our hearts and imaginations. Their highly anticipated nuptials took place at a French château, London church, English cathedral, and exclusive Hawaiian hotel. While these weddings were spectacularly lavish in every way possible, they were also a beautiful expression of each bride’s unique style and personality.

Katharine McPhee
Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s much-discussed courtship culminated with the couple exchanging vows at the Church of St. Yeghiche in South Kensington in late June. The Actress-singer wore a gorgeous custom Zac Posen dress featuring a ballgown silhouette, sweetheart neckline, and layer upon layer of striped tulle skirt. She accessorized with a dramatic cathedral veil and soft colored floral and greenery bouquet. The ceremony décor of lush, bright blooms created a striking contrast against the church’s ornate interior. For the post-ceremony celebrations, which took place at a private club, the bride changed into a silk cocktail dress, also by Zac Posen. Reception florals had a decadent, English garden feel with verdant greenery embellished with white and green roses and hydrangea.

 

 

 

Sophie Turner
After a surprise post-Billboard Music Awards wedding in Las Vegas, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas had a more formal affair at Château du Martinay in Carpentras, France at the end of June. Wearing a custom gown by Nicolas Ghesquiére, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director, the bride looked like a modern Pre-Raphealite beauty. The long-sleeve design featured floral crystal embroidered tulle and optical white leather satin with matching veil. It’s hard to glean the details of the bouquet and decor from the only released black-and-white photo, but floral design studios Floresie and Bows and Arrows Flowers are credited with the couple’s enchanted arrangements.

 

 

Ellie Goulding
Singer Ellie Goulding married longtime beau, art dealer Casper Jopling, at York Minster Cathedral in North Yorkshire at the end of August. The famous guest list included Princess Eugenie and her mother Sarah, The Duchess of York, Katy Perry and fiancée Orlando Bloom, Sienna Miller, and Karlie Kloss and husband Joshua Kushner. The bride stunned in a Victorian inspired custom gown by Chloe featuring long sleeves, delicate high neck collar, and hand-embroidered glass beaded roses. She complemented her one-of-a-kind bridal ensemble with an elbow length veil and white flower and greenery bouquet. Goulding’s wedding fashion tour-de-force continued throughout the night as she changed into three separate reception dresses which included a column gown by designer Stella McCartney.

 

 

 

Keleigh Sperry & Miles Teller
The summer concluded with model Keleigh Sperry and actor Miles Teller saying “I Do” in the ultimate destination wedding at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua Hotel in Maui. Sperry was picture-perfect in a custom Monique Lhuillier gown featuring a classic silhouette and floral lace overlay. She accessorized with a petite lily of the valley bouquet and dramatic lace veil. Teller matched his bride in a custom Celine navy suit by Hedi Slimane. After a church ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests celebrated with an outdoor reception overlooking the ocean. Channeling the verdant island landscape of Hawaii, décor by Christie Rose Events and Unveiled Hawaii featured eye-catching tropical palms and blooms in chinoiserie vases.
