Laura & Charlie Exchange Vows In An Elegant White & Greenery Ceremony
Months of planning and anticipation lead up to the moment when a couple sees their wedding décor for the first time. “We knew that we wanted a classic white palette,” this month’s Bride & Blossom Featured Bride Laura says. “But to see the chuppah in person was just spectacular.” Here, she shares the details about her elegant ceremony at Cipriani 42nd Street.
Part 3: Ceremony & Chuppah
Gathering for Laura and Charlie’s summer wedding, guests were welcomed with a scene so captivating they immediately forgot about the blistering heat outside. Blending old world glamour and garden romance, an iron gate trimmed with sprawling greenery and crisp white blossoms opened into the ceremony space.
An audible hush was heard all around as Laura, escorted by her mother and father, took to the aisle. With each step, the bride’s breathtaking Oscar de la Renta gown and matching cathedral length veil diaphanously trailed in her wake. Harpist Kristi Shade performed live to the ceremonial procession, underscoring the enchanted ambiance. Gilded seating complemented the classical architectural details filling out Cipriani’s impressive room.
Once Laura joined Charlie, it was evident to everyone that the next chapter in their love story, which began so effortlessly perfect, was being written right before their eyes. Setting the ceremony stage, the couple’s mesmerizing chuppah featured rich camilla and olive branch greens embellished with white roses, stock, hydrangea, dendrobium orchids, and delphiniums against a chiffon draping backdrop. The flourishing organic décor looked breathtaking against the historically grand venue.
When asked how it felt to get married in such a magical setting, Laura looks back and says, “Of course I’m biased, but I truly felt like our chuppah was the most beautiful one that I have ever seen. The chuppah represents the home that a couple is going to build together. Standing there, holding hands with Charlie, it felt like we were stepping into our life together.”
And what about that epic first kiss? “Charlie is a planner. He was very serious about planning our first kiss once we were officially pronounced husband and wife. Making sure it was tasteful – not too long and not too short.” Laura continues with a laugh. “Afterward, we watched the videos friends and family had taken with their phones. Our first kiss had to be one of the longest ever witnessed. We both just got caught up in the excitement of the moment.”
Stay tuned next week for Part 4 when Laura talks about celebrating with a glamorous, fun-filled reception.
