BB Featured Bride Fanta On Her Show-Stopping Martina Liana Wedding Dress
A bride wants many things from a wedding dress. As the most important article of clothing she will ever wear, it should make her feel confident, beautiful, and true to her personal style, but with a bit more sparkle and shine for the once in a lifetime occasion. BB Featured Bride Fanta knew she had found ‘the one’ when she stepped into a gown by Martina Liana. “I wanted to feel like a showstopper and my dress did just that!” Here, Fanta reminisces about her ‘say yes to the dress’ moment and bridal personals.
Part 2: Wedding Dress & Personals
Knowing that she would need support and honest feedback during the process of looking for wedding attire, Fanta enlisted her mother and sister to accompany her on an appointment at RK Bridal in Manhattan. She had an idea of the type of dress she was going to wear stating, “I always saw myself in a ballgown.” Fanta’s experience is reminder for brides-to-be to keep an open mind as they sift through racks, trying on look after look. What she ended up choosing was about as far away from a ballgown, with its billowing layers of tulle, as you can get.
There was a collective silence when Fanta stepped out of the dressing room in a mermaid dress by Australian bridal designer Martina Liana. Combining romanticism with sexy allure, the jaw-dropping design featured a deep-V neckline and all-over lace embellished with exquisite textured beading. “It had subtle sparkle and accentuated the right parts of my body,” Fanta says. “And I knew that I would be able to walk with style and grace, but also dance the night away.” Despite it being only the third look Fanta had tried on that day, her mother and sister were in agreement. “They both looked at me and said, ‘This dress was made for you.’”
Fanta complemented her gorgeous ensemble with a bouquet of soft colored blooms. The lush arrangement featured various roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, stock, and astilbe in pink, blush, and white paired with silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus, and Italian ruscus. The arrangement was tied together with a blush satin ribbon.
Not wanting to detract from the maximalist glamour of her gown, Fanta decided to keep jewelry and accessories glittering, but to a minimum. She wore shimmering dangle earrings and bejeweled Badgley Mischka shoes.
Stepping into his leading man role with impeccable fashion, Darwin wore a white tuxedo jacket with a black bow tie and pants. His blush ranunculus, spray rose, and seeded eucalyptus boutonniere matched the flowers in Fanta’s bouquet. The couple’s wedding party continued the black-tie vibe – the bridesmaids wore blush dresses while the groomsmen donned black tuxedos.
Stay tuned next week for Part 3 when Fanta remembers her and Darwin’s unforgettable outdoor ceremony.
