Fanta & Darwin Exchange Vows In A Heartfelt Garden Ceremony
For an outdoor wedding in June, the day could not have been more picture-perfect. Making their way to Stonebridge Country Club’s garden nestled in the majestic grounds, Fanta and Darwin’s guests took in the lush, idyllic landscape unfolding all around. Here, Fanta reminisces about the couple’s deeply heartfelt garden ceremony.
Part 2: Ceremony
As a place to get married, Stonebridge Country Club boasts many alluring features with a garden gazebo topping the list. It acts as a natural backdrop, offering a myriad of possibilities for décor and styling. Fanta and Darwin’s pink and white theme underscored the structure’s charming beauty while complimenting the green, organic surroundings perfectly.
Announced with an inspired welcome sign, the couple’s ceremony scene commenced with a rose petal adorned aisle way – tended by two adorable flower girls – flanked with elevated floral arrangements. Set within urn vessels, the voluminous blossoms included various roses, hydrangeas, and stock with jasmine vine, seeded eucalyptus, and Italian ruscus.
A hush overtook guests as Fanta, escorted by her father, stepped to the aisle in her striking Martina Liana dress. She joined Darwin under the prettily decorated gazebo, which seemed to echo their love story – romantic, classic, effortless. Elegant white chiffon draping cascaded down each post with gorgeous pink and white cluster arrangements providing the finishing touches. Hanging blush dendrobium orchids appeared to be floating around the couple as they exchanged vows, bringing a sense of dreaminess and wonder to their ‘let’s make this forever’ moment.
You can say “I do” at the most luxurious venue decked out with lavish décor under a clear blue sky. But the weddings that endure in everyone’s minds are those in which the couple puts a personal spin on expected traditions, inviting friends and family to witness a sincere expression of their love. Fanta and Darwin made sure that their union was unique and unforgettable. “Our hashtag #theBlancCanvas not only incorporated Darwin’s last name, but it was used to describe a painting we created together during the official ceremony,” Fanta says. “We each poured a different color of paint – pink and blue symbolizing two lives – onto a canvas with a gold heart taped at the center. After the paint dried, we peeled the tape away to reveal a heart within the mixture of paint. The beautiful canvas represented Darwin and I bonding in marriage to make a new life together. It was a memorable and fun part of our wedding.”
Stay tuned next week for Part 4 when Fanta remembers her and Darwin’s cross-cultural reception uniting their African and Haitian backgrounds.
