Joye & Scott Say “I Do” In A Breathtakingly Chic Sky-High Ceremony
“We’ve been to so many weddings, but never one on a Manhattan rooftop. After taking in the views, we couldn’t see us getting married without the NYC skyline in the background. It was just our vibe – the venue had everything we imagined for a dream wedding.” This week, BB Featured Bride Joye reminisces on her breathtaking sky-high ceremony at Tribeca Rooftop.
Part 3: Ceremony and Backdrop Arrangements
As guests made their way to the rooftop patio, they we welcomed with an iconic scene of downtown Manhattan that harmonized the city’s past and present, showing off time-worn landmark buildings against towering sleek skyscrapers. The weather couldn’t have been more picture-perfect. With not a cloud in the sky, sunlight filtered down, dancing off the steel and brick architectural giants to luminous effect.
The couple chose to fill out the sophisticated, open-air space with modern-boho décor that expressed their chic sensibility. Focusing on arrangements of artful clusters of fresh flowers and dried leaves and natural elements, the ceremony backdrop featured quicksand and avalanche roses, Phalaenopsis orchids in shades of pale pink and white with sand-hued pampas grass, fan palm leaves, Italian ruscus (bleached and fresh), and silver dollar eucalyptus.
When Joye emerged at the beginning of the aisle arm-in-arm with her mother, hushed gasps could be heard all around. The bride appeared to be gliding down the walkway as the exquisite beading of her Pallas Collective gown sparkled in the sunlight. When Joye finally met Scott, it was clear that this young, vibrant love was meant to be.
Joye holds this part of her wedding especially close to her heart. “Pushing our wedding back a year was totally worth the wait. 2020 was a complete mess, but our 2021 started on the happiest note – we had a baby girl in February. Seeing our daughter and my best friend’s daughter roll down the aisle in a little wagon toward Scott is a memory I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Stay tuned for next week when Joye shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding story.
