Sammi & Steven Exchange Vows in a Heartfelt Ceremony Overlooking Downtown Manhattan

Any sense that Sammi and Steven’s wedding was taking place on a Monday quickly fell away as guests took their seats on Tribeca Rooftop’s patio overlooking downtown Manhattan. The décor and breathtaking views combined with feelings of excitement to create an atmosphere that defied time and place. This day belonged to two people who were about to start their journey of a lifetime together. Here, BB Featured Bride Sammi remembers her heartfelt ceremony in the sky.

Part 3: Ceremony & Chuppah

An escape from the metropolitan hustle & bustle of the streets while celebrating the magic that makes New York City so alluring, Tribeca Rooftop offered the perfect setting for Sammi’s self-described over-the-top wedding style. The bride admits that her vision for ceremony décor was unclear when she first met with us. “I had pinned and saved so many gorgeous images of chuppahs. By my second meeting with Rachel (Bride & Blossom’s Founder), we had all the details figured out, or so I thought. Then about four weeks before my wedding, we decided to change the chuppah completely. I’m so glad we did, because I was obsessed with it!”

The jaw-dropping structure was topped with a lush, richly textured mix of Sahara, vendela, and majolica spray roses, dahlias, Phalaenopsis orchids, hydrangeas, lisianthus and stock in romantic shades of pink, ivory, and white. Light pink carnations and roses cascaded down four Lucite posts, giving the impression that the chuppah was floating in air. Sammi points out, “I specifically used subtler shades of pink here, in order to differentiate the ceremony décor from the reception, which had bolder colors.”

 

After a year of planning during a pandemic, Sammi took her first steps as bride. Escorted arm-in-arm by her parents, she made her way down the aisle with her shimmering custom Martina Liana dress coming into full view. When she finally met Steven under their blossoming chuppah, it became clear to all witnessing that their love was meant to be.

 

Glamorous décor and fashion aside, the bride made sure to include personal details full of sentiment. She elaborates, “The tallit hanging in our chuppah was from Steven’s Bar Mitzvah. And the tallit we were wrapped in during the ceremony was the one I received for my Bat Mitzvah. Having these symbolic elements be part of our nuptials meant a lot to us.”
