In Love at The Liberty Warehouse: a Wedding in Red Hook

“Love is friendship set on fire.”– Jeremy Taylor

“Joshua and I met the first week of college and became fast friends,” said Jenny Ninyo Kaplan. The two studied abroad and became travel partners. In fact, they got along so well that they decided to move to New York City together, as friends. “After about a year of living together, we began to realize what we had was pretty special,” Jenny said. “And quite possibly more than just a best friendship. So we tried it out – and it worked! Three years later, we got engaged. A year and a half after that, we had the most amazing wedding in New York with all of our family and friends.” The couple married at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, with New York Harbor providing a scenic backdrop for the ceremony. Traditionally, yellow flowers symbolize friendship. Jenny chose a fresh, sunny color palette for her bouquet, carrying white and yellow dahlias, chrysanthemums, ranunculus and craspedia. Hydrangeas, freesia, and roses in pale peach and bright yellow joined the mix to adorn the tables and chuppah. Mason jar vases of flowers and succulents hung at aisle ends, adding a touch of rustic charm.
