“My wedding vision really took shape after I found my dress – a unique, asymmetrical gown by Viktor & Rolf featuring a large statement flower,” BB Featured Bride Elana says. “Using the white flower motif as a point of reference, art-inspired design and styling punctuated our reception decor, from the sculpturesque floral centerpieces to the 72 black and white framed photographs displayed for guests to view during cocktail hour.” Here, Elana shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding story.

After connecting through the dating app, The League, Elana and Greg had their first date in May 2016 at La Esquina, the trendy Mexican restaurant in Nolita. Talking to mutual friends eased any nerves before their initial meeting. Elana remembers how easy that night felt for her. “Our quirky senses of humor helped us hit it off from the beginning. ‘Home is where the heart is.” While the saying is true, our relationship to ‘home’ has drastically changed this past year due to Covid-19. Your reception is going to be the longest part of your wedding. From the decor details to the furniture, how you choose to display your tablescape will have a huge impact on the tone of the evening. And that dreaded task of putting together the seating chart? Compared to smaller round tables, they are easier to arrange guests in a way so that everyone feels equally welcome. Basically, you wont be faced with the question, “Who are we going to put at the far corner table?”

The evening’s celebrations commenced with guests enjoying hors oeuvres and raising the first of many glasses to Laura and Charlie. While everyone mingled, the newlyweds took advantage of this time to finally relax and relish the moment. “I loved sneaking away with Charlie after the ceremony,” Laura remembers. “We were able to eat our cocktail hour food by ourselves and reflect on the fact that we were officially married!” Here, she shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding Story.
