There are many reasons for wanting lofty table décor – it commands the eye while creating an alluring reception atmosphere. From a practical standpoint, a high centerpiece allows for more space below to accommodate the ever-flowing drinks and cuisine. One major trend we saw in our 2019 Real BB Weddings was the harlow stand. Taking the place of a tall vase, the harlow stand is 4-post metal structure used to display flowers. It is available in various heights and colors such as gold, silver, bronze, and black.

When Pantone named “Classic Blue” as its 2020 Color of the Year, we, admittedly, had mixed emotions. From a floral designer’s standpoint, the announcement presented quite a challenge as there are very few flowers that are naturally blue. Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold to a new era.

This past holiday season, a handful of high-profile ladies took advantage of their vacation time by walking down the aisle. From the gorgeous gowns and luxury venues to the floral decor and after parties, each of these stars in the worlds of entertainment and sports made their special day truly remarkable. We are always up for a good celebrity wedding recap and decided to take a look at the famous brides who rang in the New Year by saying “I Do.”

Hilary Duff

Our first famous bride to tie the knot over the holidays is Hilary Duff. The ‘Younger’ actress married singer and record producer Matthew Komas in an intimate ceremony at their L.A. home just before Christmas. The internet was abuzz when Hilary posted photos of her custom gown by Jenny Packham. Simple yet bold, the design featured a fishtail silhouette (100 buttons adorned the back!) paired with structured shoulders and cape-like sleeves. For their at-home nuptials, the couple worked with planner Yifat Oren of Oren & Co and floral design studio Hollyflora to create a romantic, dreamy atmosphere expressed though organic greenery and soft pink, plum, and off-white florals.
