Alexandra & Robert’s Enchanted Garden Reception
After Alexandra and Robert’s ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour to raise the first of many glasses to congratulate the newlyweds. “The weather had been beautiful all day long,” the bride remembers. “Golden hour was just ending, and the night felt magical. I really couldn’t have imagined a better way to celebrate the start of our marriage.” Here, Alexandra shares the final chapter of their Real BB Wedding story.
Part 4: Reception & Centerpieces
Spirits were high once pre-dinner drinks and hors d’oeuvres concluded. Everyone headed upstairs to The Stone Mill’s dining room where they were welcomed by a warm, enchanted atmosphere. Tables were decorated with low centerpieces featuring roses, ranunculuses, dahlias, lisianthus, oncidium orchids, pieris, and abelia in shades of golden yellow, orange, peach, blush, white, and cream complemented by Italian ruscus and silver dollar eucalyptus. The mix of classic blooms and flowering plants worked to capture Alexandra’s wedding vision of a whimsical garden accentuating the venue’s charmed beauty. “The light pink taper candles added soft elegance, while illuminating the flowers’ texture and dimension. We also trimmed the main ceiling beam with trailing ivy,” she notes.
A sweetheart table bedecked with loose ivy, orange ranunculuses, and glowing votives offered Alexandra and Robert an intimate spot where they could finally relax and indulge in their first dinner as a married couple. Together, they enjoyed with tears of joy the speeches made in their honor. Hal Prince Entertainment provided live music for the evening.
Alexandra saw the cake cutting as her chance to change into a second dress by Zhivago. “It was called the White Rabbit Gown,” she says. “I knew that I would need something a little more ‘party-ready’ as the night went on.” And party they did! Now full of food and champagne, everyone headed back to the open-air terrace to dance under the hanging bistro lights. The couple made sure their guests would not be going home empty handed. “I’m a big tea drinker. I worked with TEALEAVES to choose my favorite blend called the Amour blend. I then included heart-shaped infusers,” Alexandra says. “The paper tag with our initials and wedding date contained seeds and could be planted to grow flowers.”
In a day filled with unforgettable moments, we asked Alexandra if there are any that were her favorite. “Robert and I were so present, yet the entire day felt like a dream. It’s been fun for us to look back at our incredible wedding photos and see how everything – the people, the décor, the special details, and personal touches – really came together to make our wedding so perfect.”
Congratulations, Alexandra & Robert! Thank you for sharing your Real BB Wedding story with us.
