Featured Bride Lorenza On Her Breathtaking Pnina Tornai Wedding Dress
With just six months between getting engaged and the day of her wedding, Lorenza had to move fast on major decisions that take most brides over a year to make. She knew this. So when her mother made an appointment at Kleinfeld, her goal was to walk out having said ‘yes to the dress’. Here, Lorenza talks about her breathtaking Pnina Tornai ensemble and the personal touches that made her wedding day so special.
Part 2: Wedding Dress & Personals
“I knew there would be so many gorgeous dresses that I could love,” recalls Lorenza. “I narrowed down one dress on Kleinfeld’s website before going in.” At her appointment, she was presented with three dresses including the dress she found online. Lorenza looks back and says with a laugh, “Sure enough, when I tried on that dress, I knew it was “the one. I was undoubtedly Kleinfeld’s fastest sale.”
She chose a striking trumpet silhouette gown by Israeli designer Pnina Tornai. The dress featured exquisite floral lace overlay, delicate cap sleeves, and an elegant chapel train. She complemented her look with an understated, cathedral length veil made of chiffon, also by Pnina Tornai, and Badgley Mischka shoes.
Lorenza carried a beautiful bouquet composed of lush, red peonies and freedom roses tied together with antique white silk and pearl ribbon. A gold ring was laced into the arrangement. “The ring was my Grandfather’s who had passed away. He was my only grandparent who couldn’t be there. To honor him by having his wedding band with me at my own wedding was very special.”
Lessening the list of decisions she had to make by one, Lorenza had each of her bridesmaids choose their own attire. They wore formal black dresses and carried petite bouquets of white garden and spray roses accented with snowberries and wintergreens.
In a day that can be a flurry of nerves and excitement, Lorenza and Pete included intimate gestures to let the other one know they were thinking of them. “Instead of exchanging public vows, we wrote each other letters to express our feelings.” The couple also marked the day with symbolic gifts. Lorenza recalls, “He gave me a jewelry box engraved with the lyrics to our song, Andrea Bocelli’s version of ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’ and our wedding date. I gave him personalized M&M’s with our faces and wedding date. I also had the date engraved into his David Yurman cufflinks.” Lorenza finishes, “I didn’t think Pete would reach out to me at all that morning. So I was especially surprised when he sent me a text saying ‘I can’t wait to marry you.’ It was a really sweet of him.”
Look forward to next week for Part 3 when Lorenza talks about her beautiful ceremony at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle.
