Featured Bride Sophia on Her Stunning Ceremony at Tribeca 360
While planning for their wedding, Sophia and Sam knew that they wanted the ceremony’s atmosphere to be an expression of feeling. This week, we look at how the couple designed their décor to symbolize the beginning of their new life together.
Part 3: Ceremony and Arrangements
As guests took their seats, everyone’s attention was drawn to the captivating ceremonial display before them. In just a few moments, Sophia and Sam would take their place together amidst magnificent arrangements of trees in full bloom.
“The ceremony was more important to us emotionally, so we wanted to have just one focal point at the front,” Sophia recalls. “I came across a similar display with trees and brought the idea to Rachel and Elianna. We loved the design they came up with. It worked really well and continued the understated elegance of our wedding style.”
The ceremonial presentation featured expressive Manzanita trees adorned with white Phalaenopsis and Hawaiian dendrobium orchids. The curved arches of the trees’ bloom-filled branches created an enchanting canopy over the couple. The trees descended down to a lush bed of white hydrangea and orchids. Each arrangement was placed on top of acrylic stands, which gave the illusion they were floating. “The soft, neutral color of the wood combined with all white flowers really enhanced our wedding color palette,” Sophia said.
Aisle décor highlighted the ceremony’s light and airy atmosphere. The walkway was marked with an ivory hued runner accented with lovely cream rose petals. The Bride & Blossom team had to make special consideration to the width of the aisle in order to accommodate the spectacular train of Sophia’s gown! The bride looked like an ethereal goddess as the she made her way to meet her groom. Satin ribbon decorated the aisle seating and in the front row, a single white rose was placed on the first seat of the groom’s side in memory of Sam’s father.
As the couple took center stage and joined hands, Sophia’s show-stopping Galia Lahav ensemble came into full view, accentuating the décor all around her. Reverend Annie Lawrence officiated the ceremony. Guests looked on excitedly as Sophia and Sam exchanged vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
Looking back, Sophia says, “For us, contemporary didn’t mean bland, it meant different ideas, which worked to produce different designs. And I think this helped create a really unique wedding experience.”
Coming next week in Part 4: Reception, Centerpieces, and Floral Chandelier, we talk with Sophia about the final chapter in her wedding story.
