Ashley Woodson Bailey's Floral Photography
Artist Ashley Woodson Bailey is an inspiration. Ashley worked as a floral designer for twenty years, until her life changed in an instant. From Ashley’s website:
A self-taught photographer, Ashley sought to create a lasting flower arrangement through the lens of a camera after a life-changing accident in 2012 left her physically unable to create for large-scale events. As an artist, Ashley is defined fully and completely by the flower. Her collection “Dark” is inspired by the transition of the flower from a lovely blossom to a dying stem and the deep desire to preserve that metamorphosis as a moment in time.
The above photograph, of amaryllis, peonies, roses and bush ivy, is titled Dutch Love. Ashley says it was inspired by, “…my love for the Dutch Masters’ amazing ability to paint blooms.” Prints can be ordered in a variety of sizes, framed or unframed. Astoundingly, Ashley uses her iPhone to capture and edit these images.
We discovered Ashley’s work at Citizen Atelier. We hope you love it as much as we do.
