Hilary & Brad say “I Do” In A Breathtaking Pink and White Ceremony At The Plaza Hotel
Making high glamour work in a classic New York venue like the Plaza Hotel can be hard to pull off. You want to incorporate eye-catching elements without going over the top. Using her experience as an event planner, BB Featured Bride Hilary did just that. “I tried to bring in bright pinks in such a way so they popped just enough to not be shocking.”
Part 3: Ceremony and Chuppah
When guests entered the Terrace Room of the Hotel Plaza, they were met with a magnificent scene like never before. Encapsulating the grace and style of old New York, the interior is marked with soaring arches, exquisite ornamentation, and crystal chandeliers made by Charles Winston (brother of jeweler Harry Winston) designed to look like those within the Palace of Versailles. Hilary’s choice of décor created an atmosphere that radiated intimate glamour. “For our ceremony, I chose to mix in some pink! We used amber lighting to set a romantic mood.”
The bride made sure her walk down the aisle would be unforgettable. Gasps were heard through out when the bride, escorted by her both her parents, emerged between two striking arrangements featuring hot pink Paris, floyd, zafira, Kate garden, and spray roses, hydrangea and Phalaenopsis orchids. Vibrant pink rose petals and elegant cylinder vases with an assortment of ivory pillar and floating candles lined both sides of the aisle. The walkway décor was enhanced by row upon row of gilded seating.
When Hilary finally met Brad under the most elegant chuppah, it was clear her dreams of a fairytale day were coming true. Standing out against the golden tones of the Terrace Room, the structure featured white chiffon drapery adorned with a lush ring of various types of roses and hydrangea (hot pink of course!) at each post. Rose petals and white candles underscored the gorgeous display.
The bride made no secret of her taste for girlish glitz. Hilary says with a laugh, “With my love for pink, bling, and glitter, I had to keep things tasteful yet sparkly… all while remembering that I had to share this day with my husband. It couldn’t be too pink!”
From the grand architecture and ambiance to the fancy décor, the ceremony was a stunning spectacle from start to finish. Still, the couple managed to make everything feel warm and personal. Hilary looks back and says, “To add to the beauty of our wedding, Brad and I chose to write our own vows, which everyone loved. Not a dry eye in the room!”
Look forward to next week when Hilary shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding Story.
