Nailah & Hasan: Natural Romanticism at The Liberty Warehouse
Nailah and Hasan were all set to have their wedding in November 2020. “As months passed and the COVID-19 situation showed no signs of improving, I began to doubt if we would be able to get married this year as originally planned,” Nailah remembers. The couple had some major decisions to make. After much careful thought, they decided to go through with their wedding, and even pushed the date up to August. “We had just four weeks to pull everything together, and luckily, our venue and all of our vendors were available!”
We are excited to introduce Nailah, our Bride & Blossom Featured Bride for November. Nailah and Hasan married on an unforgettable day at The Liberty Warehouse. Here, she shares the beginning of their Real BB Wedding story.
Part 1: Planning & Venue
When Nailah began dating Hasan, their relationship was long-distance. Hasan was living in Canada at the time, but was able to make regular visits to Nailah in Brooklyn because he traveled a lot for work. He would eventually orchestrate a surprise proposal on the rooftop at the William Vale in Williamsburg. With so many special memories tied to Brooklyn, the couple knew it was where they wanted to get married.
Their search of venues within the borough led them to the Liberty Warehouse located on Redhook’s historic waterfront. Built in the 1850s, the renovated event space boasts an open interior with airy rooms punctuated by large windows and original wooden beams. Additionally, a 15,000 square foot brick promenade overlooks the New York Harbor. “We loved that the venue was right on the water with breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center. And I especially loved the rustic vibe that it offered,” Nailah looks back and says.
With the venue set and just a month to plan, Nailah’s wedding vision started taking shape. Keeping the COVID-19 restrictions for gatherings in mind, she and Hasan decided that both the ceremony and reception would take place outside under a tent. She found us while scrolling on Instagram and arranged for a consultation. “Using photos that I had pinned on Pinterest and Instagram along with examples of their previous events, I explained to Carla and Rachel at Bride & Blossom what I wanted. We worked together, choosing the flowers, colors, and style to create my dream wedding.” B&B Founder Rachel Trimarco adds, “It was an absolute pleasure conceptualizing and putting together the designs for this beautiful and unique wedding. The family owns a custom décor company and we collaborated to bring the couple’s vision to life. Despite the challenging times our city and country face, and the changes that had to be made to her wedding, this bride made the most of her day and was truly glowing with joy. Liberty Warehouse is one of our favorite venues and while the day was a bit misty, it cast the perfect mood for a waterfront ceremony and reception. Our first outdoor reception at the venue!” Nailah’s ideas took shape in naturally romantic florals expressed though voluminous, textured arrangements in a blush, white, and green palette.
Stay tuned next week for Part 2: Dress and Personals when Nailah shares the details on their gorgeous Chana Marelus dress and personals.
