Nicole + Frank : Modern Magic at The Woodmere Club

Nicole and Frank met in August 2007, on a cruise ship called The Norwegian Dawn, where they were vacationing separately with their families. After exchanging glances in the gym, their paths crossed again at dinner, where Frank claims it was “love at second sight.”

For years, Nicole talked about how much she wanted a black-and-white French bulldog to name Tuxedo, but always stopped herself from going through with the adoption due to her busy work schedule.  Turns out Frank was listening!

 

On a Wednesday night in November 2014, Frank was moving the last of his boxes into their new shared apartment in Williamsburg.  But when Nicole opened the door to help him carry what she assumed was a box of clothes, she was greeted instead by an eight-week-old black and white French bulldog with an engagement ring around his neck. “I will never forget that day!” says Nicole, “I did not know what to pay attention to first – the puppy or the ring?”

 

 

“It was by far one of the best days of my life.  He truly outdid himself.  I could not have asked for a better proposal.”

Frank and Nicole love going out on “day” dates – grabbing lunch and walking through the city, lounging on the beach at Pier Village in Long Branch, and cheering on the New York Giants.  They also love spending time with Frank’s nieces and nephews.  “I love how amazing he is with children,” dotes Nicole, “and I have always treated [his nieces and nephews] as though they are my own from the very beginning.”

 

 

The ceremony was held at The Woodmere Club, a classic country club on Long Island’s South Shore.  The couple said their vows beneath a chuppah of curly willow branches with bloomed white Dendrobium orchids woven through the branches.

 

 

Nicole carried a stunning bouquet of cascading Orchid blooms with a beauty mark of pink Phalaenopsis Orchids tied in white satin.  Her bridesmaids carried adorable woven satchels custom-made by Jennifer Tattanelli.

 

 

The reception featured Orchids galore, illuminated by floating candles and paired with sandblasted Manzanita branches.  The cocktail tables featured a modern arrangement of looped blush tulips paired with Lily grass and placed in glass fish bowls, while white stones rooted the branches and blooms at the head table.
