Can “Cloud-Seeding” Guarantee Perfect Wedding Weather?

Glen-Cove-Mansion-Wedding

When planning your wedding, of course you don’t want to leave any details to chance. Maybe now that is really possible. One company claims they can guarantee beautiful wedding weather with technology.

From Discover:

London luxury travel company Oliver’s Travels is guaranteeing couples a sunny day for their nuptials courtesy of their Cloud Bursting service. The company will “pop” clouds prior to your big day through a process more commonly known as cloud seeding. The service, which costs about $150,000 and is currently only offered in France, promises to clear up cloudy skies with a little help from atmospheric science.

The perfect blue-sky wedding weather above was a natural occurence at Glen Cove Mansion in Long Island, New York.

Quintessential Manhattan Wedding: Central Park & 21 Club

Central-Park_Bride-and-Flowergirl

A ceremony in snowy Central Park, followed by a sophisticated reception at the fabled 21 Club, made for a timeless Manhattan wedding, straight out of a classic movie. Landmark New York City venues add a sense of history and tradition which perfectly suited this beautiful bride’s tastes.

The bride envisioned classic, elegant flowers for her white winter wedding. We created her bridal bouquet with off-white garden roses and white phalaenopsis orchids, then wrapped the stems in satin ribbon and finished with a glamorous crystal brooch. Isn’t the above photo of the bride and her adorable flower-girl daughter with their bouquets just exquisite? The magical hush of Central Park in the snow was perfectly captured and you can see what a special moment this must have been. And our bride was a brave girl– that last day of January was one of the winter’s coldest days. She doesn’t even look like she noticed!

Bridesmaid Bouquet Photos: Gather Your Girls

pink bridesmaids bouquets

One wedding photo that always makes us smile is the bridesmaids’ bouquet shot. Being surrounded by best friends and sisters is a beautiful moment for brides and good wedding photographers make sure to capture it. Formal wedding party portraits are classic, and playful or candid pictures are perfect for capturing personalities. But we have a soft spot for pictures of brides and bridesmaids posing close together, holding out bouquets to form a giant cluster of flowers.
We suggest asking your wedding photographer to take three types of bridesmaids photos: classic wedding-party portraits suitable for framing, shots that show off your wedding flowers, such as the clustered poses pictured here, and some wildcard photos of you and your girls being silly. Group leaps and jumps are popular for capturing that exhilarating wedding joy. Faux sexy-serious poses are also entertaining. What you want is wedding photos that reflect the spirit of your particular friendships. But if your group is having trouble letting loose, ask your wedding photographer for suggestions. Being directed to twirl, form a kick-line or throw all bouquets into the air will probably result in lots of laughter. And those may turn out to be your favorites.

Warm Reception at The Nomad Hotel

A sunlit ceremony in Jefferson Market Garden, a historic outdoor venue in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, and a luxe reception at The Nomad Hotel, added up to a wedding as sweet as it was chic.

Warm, romantic wedding flowers matched the day’s mood. We created bouquets, centerpieces and high floral arrangements in a palette of blush, ivory, light pink and white. At the bride’s request, we took extra care selecting blush blossoms for her bridal bouquet; she envisioned carrying flowers the color of ballet slippers. And for elegant, feminine bridal hair, we created a bridal hair pin with blush and ivory spray rose blooms, accented by a hint of seeded eucalyptus.
