It’s that time of year again, and the city is abuzz with fashionistas, designers, models, and editors, teetering in heels from one runway to the next in search of upcoming trends from tried and true favorites and fresh new talents. While we may not be on the forefront of how to curate your perfect SS16 wardrobe, we rounded up some of last week’s fantastic floral-inspired designs to delight your eyes and spark your imagination…
One of our brides-to-be came in with this unique floral iPhone case and we had to know where she found it. Handmade in San Rafael, California, the clear cases are sold by HouseofBlings on Etsy. Each case contains hand-selected, natural, dried flowers and petals, and can be ordered for a variety of Apple and Samsung phones. How cute would these be as bridesmaid gifts? Choose cases that coordinate with your wedding-flower colors for a sweet keepsake your girls will love.
Jewelry has always served as a memory keeper. Now, diamond engagement rings can literally hold wedding memories like vows, photos and web links. Momento Diamond rings by Galatea will be introduced this fall. Luxury wearable wedding tech has truly arrived.
“Think of 50 years from now, and it has your proposal and your wedding vows and your baby being born and your baby saying, ‘I love you.’ It will be so valuable in 50 years, when you actually hand it over, and you can say, ‘Everything is in here.’ It’s like a locket but interactive,” said Galatea founder Chi Huynh said in JCK magazine.

Last week at London’s BAFTA Television Awards, British actress Donna Air hit the red carpet in in a dazzling example of “wearable tech.” The blush chiffon dress was designed by Rebecca Street in collaboration with House of Fraser. LED lights embedded in the bodice of the dress, and trailing down the skirt, give the high-fashion silhouette an ethereal glow. I would even call this dress… wedding worthy.

When technology meets creativity, magic happens.
Chic Sketch is imaginative app that lets users upload a photo of their favorite looks, and receive a quick, custom sketch by a real fashion illustrator. Girls fond of posting photos tagged #OOTD (“outfit of the day”) to Instagram can now have one of a kind artwork to elevate their selfie game.
If you’re helping a bride-to-be shop for dresses, this app would be a sweet gift. When she finds “the one,” take a photo and and surprise her with a sketch.
Right now Chic Sketch has teamed up with Viktor & Rolf and Sakes Fifth Avenue to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Viktor & Rolf’s fragrance, BonBon. Stop by Saks in Manhattan today to have your outfit sketched live.
