The Secret of What Makes Us Different – Revealed!

Did you know that we are New York City’s only luxury, floral-design company specializing exclusively in wedding flowers? It’s true, we only do weddings! Our company name makes it pretty clear we cater to brides. In this video, Rachel, Founder of Bride & Blossom, explains how that sets us apart. Get a peak behind the scenes at Gotham Hall and The Plaza Hotel, and watch our team create unique hanging florals and an ethereal white chuppah.

Rachel was inspired to start a floral-design studio after creating all the floral decor for her own wedding. That initial spark of passion informs everything we do. We never lose sight of how much every detail, of every bouquet and arrangement we create, matters.

We Love: Rouge Louboutin Lip Color

Christian Louboutin Lipstick

New Rouge Louboutin Lip Color looks like it was made for brides! Inspired by Art Deco objet d’art and by Middle Eastern antiques, the weighty, metal case is laced with a silk ribbon. It takes us back to the glamorous days when every girl carried beautiful compacts and lipstick cases, meant to be seen and refilled. This sense of detail and glamour is something we don’t always bother with anymore for the every day, but for your wedding day? Absolutely! And imagine surprising all your bridesmaids with these treasures

This lipstick comes in three silky finishes, from satin to matte, and a gorgeous range of colors. Our pick? Bikini, a blush-pink, perfect to pack for your honeymoon.

Scenes From Last Night’s Flower Class: Contemporary Centerpieces

Last night’s flower-class theme was Contemporary Centerpieces and we had so much fun! Fresh, bright blooms, including fuchsia carnations, yellow pincushion protea and green dianthus, set the tone for bold, modern arrangements.

Expert floral stylist, Dawn, led the demonstration (in an adorable yellow dress!), while students got hands-on experience preparing and working with flowers. Contemporary table centerpieces tend feature strong lines, unusual flowers or greenery and unexpected texture. Here you’ll notice a geometric look, created with a square base and diagonal greens. These modern floral arrangements are very different in style from the softer, romantic florals featured in classes like Roses & Rose.

Floral Crown for Engagement Photo Shoot

floral-crown-recipe-brideBride-to-be Lauren asked us to create a floral crown for her engagement shoot and we were more than happy to say yes! Flower crowns are wildly popular with chic brides right now. Wearing blooms close to the face brings out every woman’s natural beauty and evokes tradition; adorning hair with fresh flowers, for weddings and festivals, was just as on-trend in ancient Greece and Medieval Europe as it is today.

We got to know Lauren’s lovely sense of style while working on designs for her big day next June. For this engagement session, she envisioned blush roses and shared an inspiration image from a gorgeous French wedding. Instead of standard roses, we suggested delicate, light-pink spray roses, and ethereal baby’s breath. Cool-toned, seeded eucalyptus complimented the intricate, ivory petals of tiny wildflowers, including poetically-named astrantia million stars. Fresh and romantic, the finished crown looked perfect with Lauren’s “lob,” worn in gentle waves.

Ethereal SeaGlass Carousel Opens in Battery Park

Manhattan’s most ethereal new attraction might also be the best new spot in the city for engagement photo-shoots. The otherworldly SeaGlass Carousel, nestled in Tiffany & Co. Foundations Woodland Gardens, is now open in Battery Park. Designer George Tsypin, whose work you may remember from the 2014 Sochi Olympics Opening Ceremony, evokes the experience of being underwater with nautilus-shaped canopy and fiberglass fish that glow and spin. A decade in the making, the SeaGlass Carousel is an instant landmark that brings a sense of magic to the city’s waterfront.
