Sweden’s Prince Carl Phillip married Sofia Hellqvist this weekend at Stockholm’s Royal Palace. Who can resist a royal wedding? Of course, what transfixed us about Sweden’s big event was the wedding flowers.
Flower walls of vibrant pink blossoms served as backdrops for both the ceremony altar and the head table at the reception. Outside, extravagant, deeper pink flowers decorated stone columns at the front of the palace. The bridal bouquet included cream and coral garden roses with sprigs of myrtle. Cuttings from the same plant have been carried and worn in the hair of Sweden’s royal brides for over a century.
