Engagements and weddings are about celebrating the unique bond between two people. For LGBTQ+ couples, the idea of embracing existing wedding traditions may not feel right, like a true demonstration of their love and relationship. ‘Colorful minimalism’ sounds like a contradiction of terms, especially when it comes to wedding style. We completely understand if you are most comfortable in a uniform of black, white, and if you are feeling a little adventurous, beige. Color, however, is tied to emotion. The unmatched allure of Gurney’s Montauk is the picturesque beach setting, which offers a breathtaking backdrop for saying “I Do.” From their first vacation as a couple in Puerto Rico to getting engaged in Miami, Dayna and Matthew shared their most special moments together near the water. “Gurney’s was our dream spot for getting married,” Dayna says. Here she talks about her and Matthew’s unforgettable oceanside ceremony.

When Dayna and Matthew first met at the go-to-Friday-night bar in their senior year of college, sparks flew right away. “I wasn’t looking for anything serious though. I was just trying to have a good time. But Matthew was very persistent that we were going to continue dating,” Dayna looks back and says with a laugh. His relentless effort paid off and eight years later, the couple exchanged vows in a magnificent summer wedding at Gurney’s Montauk.

We are excited to introduce Dayna, our BB Featured Bride for June. Here she shares the first part of her and Matthew’s love story.
