The establishment of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden over a century ago paralleled the modern development of New York City. As skyscrapers, paved streets, and bridges grew like weeds, it was nearly impossible to find a soft spread of grass or blooming flower garden. Not much has changed to the concrete jungle that has come to define the cityscape. And thankfully, not much has changed to Brooklyn Botanic Garden since opening in 1911. It continues to be a designated green public space where people can come and get lost in the mesmerizing splendor of nature. It is no wonder then that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is an in-demand venue for couples planning their wedding in New York City.

Gotham Hall will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was one of the first major venues in New York City that Bride & Blossom had the pleasure to decorate back in 2011. Built in 1924 when it served as The Greenwich Savings Bank, the space radiates timeless New York elegance from floor to ceiling. What makes Gotham Hall so remarkable from a wedding florist’s standpoint is that despite the distinctive atmosphere, the venue caters to a myriad of décor styles ranging from classic to whimsical to modern.

The evening festivities commenced with cocktail hour. Guests mingled, enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, and raised the first of many toasts to the newlyweds. Afterward, everyone returned to Gotham Hall’s Grand Ballroom where they were greeted with a card display made of two walls decorated with greenery and flowers. We created beautiful floral tags using our signature Ceci Floral Watercolor, each had the guests name hand calligraphed. It was a perfect combination, and for us it’s all in the details!”
