Williamsburg, Brooklyn attracts a creative crowd. On any given sun-filled day, the neighborhood’s McCarren Park is sprawling with people relaxing on blankets, picnicking, and discreetly drinking wine out of red solo cups. If you are an artist, the chances of meeting another artist are pretty good. But what are the chances that the other art-minded person is your soul mate? Kate looks back, “That date is so memorable for the both of us and brings back a feeling that is unexplainable. We definitely were in a love spell, and the entire day was surreal, fascinating, and full of laughter.”

Beautiful Ideas With Delphinium Wedding Flowers

We’re not surprised that the delphinium has emerged as a favorite wedding bloom with our brides this season. Also known as the line flower and ‘larkspur’, the delphinium has a long stock covered with tiny blossoms making it the perfect accent for a centerpiece or bouquet. As one of the few true blue flowers in nature, it grows in a spectrum of blue shades ranging from pale and whispery to dark and intense.

The flower’s name originates from the Greek word “delphis” meaning dolphin. This description refers to its closed flower buds, which resemble a dolphin’s nose. “Love planted a rose, and the world turned sweet.” With so many quotes about the romantic beauty attributed to the rose, the words of poet Katherine Lee Bates rank as our favorite. Not all roses are the same though, and each type has its own singular allure.

To inaugurate B&B Blooms in Spotlight, a blog series devoted to our favorite wedding flowers, we are going to talk about the amnesia rose. In recent years, this bloom has caught the admiring eye of the wedding industry and become very popular with our own brides. What makes the amnesia rose so special is its unique lavender, beige and green tones, which give the flower a lovely ‘antique’ look. For this reason, they are the perfect floral feature to showcase in a vintage style wedding.
