You don’t have to be the ‘resolutions’ type to use January 1st as the day to take stock of all that has happened in your life during the previous twelve months. For us, 2021 was marked by growth, new experiences, and gratitude. After an extremely tumultuous 2020, we joined fellow vendors in wading back into the waters of wedding planning and production. To be part of the behind-the-scenes magic that goes into creating the most important event in a couple’s life together is never lost on us. The sentiment was felt especially hard this past year as we watched our clients finally have their big day after countless, often soul-crushing postponements.

After Sammi and Steven’s picture-perfect ceremony overlooking Downtown Manhattan, guests were treated to cocktail hour, enjoying hors d’oeuvres alongside the newlywed’s signature drink, The Winston, named after their French bulldog. Then everyone headed to Tribeca Rooftop’s reception room for dinner followed by a glittering night of fun. Here, this month’s featured bride shares the final chapter in her Real BB Wedding Story.

Part 4: Reception & Centerpieces

When asked about the inspiration for her reception décor, Sammi said, “I knew I wanted everything to stand out from all of the weddings I had ever been to. I also wanted my reception to be a graduation from my ceremony, which was more intimate with softer colors. Florals were always going to be a big part of my decor, so in my eyes, I visualized having three different centerpieces, numerous varieties of flowers and as many shades of pink as possible! I wanted the vibe to be glamorous, romantic, and of course fun!”

Any sense that Sammi and Steven’s wedding was taking place on a Monday quickly fell away as guests took their seats on Tribeca Rooftop’s patio overlooking downtown Manhattan. The décor and breathtaking views combined with feelings of excitement to create an atmosphere that defied time and place. This day belonged to two people who were about to start their journey of a lifetime together. Here, BB Featured Bride Sammi remembers her heartfelt ceremony in the sky.

Part 3: Ceremony & Chuppah

An escape from the metropolitan hustle & bustle of the streets while celebrating the magic that makes New York City so alluring, Tribeca Rooftop offered the perfect setting for Sammi’s self-described over-the-top wedding style. The bride admits that her vision for ceremony décor was unclear when she first met with us. “I had pinned and saved so many gorgeous images of chuppahs. By my second meeting with Rachel (Bride & Blossom’s Founder), we had all the details figured out, or so I thought. Then about four weeks before my wedding, we decided to change the chuppah completely. I’m so glad we did, because I was obsessed with it!”

For those who have dreamed of their wedding since childhood, first thoughts about all the beauty and flourish they will incorporate to make the day extraordinary often center around what they will wear. “Growing up, the extent of my wedding fantasy started and ended with the dress,” BB Featured Bride Allison says. “The groom and everything else just seemed like minor details.” In addition to the preliminary years of conceptualizing, Allison arrived to her first appointment at Kleinfeld with “6 months of online shopping under my belt.” What happened next sounds more like a perfectly executed scene from a classic Hollywood movie starring Audrey Hepburn as the bride-to-be than real life. While many couples choose to have their ceremony and reception at the same venue, Christina and Ben chose a more traditional setting to exchange their vows – the Church of Our Saviour. BB Featured Bride Christina reflects back on this part of her wedding and says, ‘it was really special because this is the church where Ben and I go every Sunday for mass.” In fact, after the couple became engaged, Ben decided to convert to Christina’s faith of Catholicism. “He actually received his confirmation and first communion there,” she says. “And we had the same priest, Monsignor Sullivan, who confirmed Ben marry us.” This week, we look back at how the couple blended tradition with personal meaning on their wedding day.
