The tablescape is the anchor of the wedding reception. While floral centerpieces are important, there are so many other details that impact the look and feel of a reception room. Table numbers, linens, place settings, name cards, dinnerware, and glassware can all be used to take decor to the next level. It really takes just one or two extra flourishes to create an unforgettably beautiful dining scene that will have everyone talking for weeks, even years to come.

We completely understand if the thought of having to make one more wedding decision makes you want to tear your To-Do list into tiny pieces. In order to ease your stress and work, we put together a list of unique and simple ideas for elevating wedding table decor.

Your reception is going to be the longest part of your wedding. From the decor details to the furniture, how you choose to display your tablescape will have a huge impact on the tone of the evening. While long, communal tables have been used for lavish royal affairs throughout history, they provide a relaxed and flexible setting for today’s couples to work with. And that dreaded task of putting together the seating chart? Compared to smaller round tables, they are easier to arrange guests in a way so that everyone feels equally welcome. Basically, you wont be faced with the question, “Who are we going to put at the far corner table?”

Imagine being met by lush florals and greenery with every step you take down the aisle. Going big with ceremony pathway décor was a major emerging trend last year with our brides. Scattered rose petals and candles (which are absolutely beautiful!) were given over to flourishing, natural arrangements that looked like a garden in full bloom. Our client proposals for the upcoming wedding season indicate that this floral love affair is here to stay. From wildly romantic to prim and polished, here are décor ideas for making the big walk all you dreamed of and more.

By the time the rings were exchanged, it was clear to everyone that Yani and Divinity had put together the ultimate mixed tape of love songs for their ceremony. Yani looks back and says, “Finally, after the kiss, we exited into cocktail hour to ‘Is This Love’ by Bob Marley!” Here, she shares the final chapter in their Real BB Wedding Story.

Part 4: Card Table, Centerpieces, & Hanging Floral Dance Floor Installation

We always tell our couples not to overlook the card table – it’s the first thing guests see heading into the reception and helps set the tone for the rest of the wedding. Yani and Divinity completely ran with the idea in welcoming their family and friends. The traditional décor fixture took shape in a jaw-dropping tree made of wisteria and birch branches adorned with roses, ranunculus, camellia greenery, and moss. “We had heart-shaped origami place cards, inspired by our connection to Japan, suspended from the branches waiting for our guests,” Yani says.

Not many couples can say that the world’s biggest superstar brought them together. Yani and Divinity met while touring the world with Beyonce on The Beyonce Experience in 2007. “Divinity was her bass player and I was one of her dancers,” Yani says. Achieving that level of professional-artistic success requires talent and dedication. She continues, “Divinity’s very passionate, focused and disciplined – qualities that I also see in myself. We connected on that level. And she has a great smile.”

We are excited to introduce Yani, our Bride & Blossom Featured Bride for September. Yani and Divinity exchanged vows on a picture-perfect day at Liberty House. Here, she shares the first chapter in their Real BB Wedding story.
