From the very start, there was a sense that Sara and Mitch intended their reception to be an occasion for everyone to cut-loose and have fun. Sara looks back and says, “There were so many details we included that meant a lot to us. Music was a big one. The music that Mitch and I and our wedding party walked into was symphony versions of pop-punk songs we love, but only a handful of people probably recognized.”

Anticipation grew as guests took their seats to witness Sara and Mitch’s nuptials. In just moments, the couple would meet under beautiful, floral adorned chuppah. Sara describes how The Foundry’s industrial aesthetic helped guide the backdrop’s design. “I wanted to juxtapose hard and soft elements with the chuppah by pairing a sturdy foundation with romantic flowers and lots of greenery.” Her vision translated into a dark wood structure embellished with a lush mixture of roses, dahlias, nigellas, Queen Anne’s lace, and wax flowers in shades of blush, red, and white. Seeded eucalyptus, salal greenery and ruscus added a natural touch to the display.

“I knew that I wanted a big, princess type dress, but without any bling and sparkle,” says Sara. Her search led her to BHLDN where she found a breathtaking design meeting all her criteria. The silhouette featured a simple lace top, fitted waist, and diaphanous, layered tulle skirt. “I knew it was the perfect dress for me when I put it on and couldn’t stop smiling,” she remembers. Finishing her dreamy look with a fingertip length veil, also from BHLDN, and hair styled in loose, flowing curls, the bride had an air of having just stepped out of a fairytale.
