We are often asked about filler flowers – the background blooms that help bring a wedding bouquet or centerpiece to life. One of our favorites for late summer/early fall is the alstroemeria, also known as the Peruvian Lily. With three to five blooms per stem, spotted petals, and an exotic look, it has a bit more character than other fillers. Color availability ranges from white and blush to unique bi-colors to vibrant orange, pink, red, and purple.

The alstroemeria was named after its discoverer, Baron Claus von Astromer, a Swedish naturalist who happened upon the bloom while collecting seeds in Spain in 1753. In the language of flowers, it symbolizes friendship, devotion, and following your dreams. In addition to beauty and style, if the meaning of your wedding flowers is important to you, then the alstroemeria is an excellent choice to have around on the big day.

One of our favorite floral designs to collaborate on with brides is the bouquet. There are so ways to go with what is the most personal element of your wedding flowers. A forecasted wedding trend for 2019 is the long stem bouquet. We’re hesitant to use the word “trend” here, because it suggests that what is “in” now will be “passé” sooner or later. It is our aim to create designs that speak to a bride’s style and personality, something she can look back at years from now and still be happy with. This is what makes the long stem bouquet so wonderful. While it will bring dramatic flair to your big day look (heads will turn, we promise), it complements styles ranging from classic to romantic to modern. Here are fifteen gorgeous long stem wedding bouquet ideas for every type of bride.

Katherine Schwarzenegger
As the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Katherine Schwarzenegger is as close as it gets to royalty in the US. After a whirlwind engagement, she married actor Chris Pratt in one of the most anticipated weddings of the year so far. The couple made it official in an intimate ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. Giorgio Armani dressed both bride and groom. While Mr. Pratt’s movies bring in millions at the box office, Katherine, in her custom strapless gown featuring a fitted silhouette and lace train, was the real star here.
