Watching two people start their new life together is one of the best things about weddings. And let’s not forget about the post-ceremony celebrations! For their Guastavino’s reception, Madalyn and Jon underscored the venue’s magnificent interior with décor that was high-impact, yet sophisticated. Still, the night’s mood was joyous and full of energy with guests partying well into the late hours. Here’s the final chapter of Madalyn and Jon’s Bride & Blossom wedding story.
Part 4: Reception, Card Table, and Dance Floor
After Madalyn and Jon said “I do”, festivities got underway with a cocktail hour. “For the reception, I knew that I wanted to have the ceremony flowers suspended over the dance floor,” Madalyn says. While everyone was busy raising their glasses to the newlyweds, the Lucite chuppah was removed to reveal a gorgeous hanging floral chandelier that casted an enchanted air over the rest of the evening.

There are over 3000 varieties of tulips available in a spectrum of colors ranging from crisp white with to soft pastels to vivid hues of purple, yellow, pink, orange, and red.
Originating in Persia and Turkey, the tulip’s name derives from the Turkish word for gauze, the fabric used for turbans, and refers to the flower’s turban-like shape. Introduced to Europe in the 16th century, tulips became incredibly popular. In the Netherlands, the flower’s demand caused “tulip mania” where the price per bulb became so high that the markets crashed!

Part 1: Engagement & Planning
When the time came to propose to Madalyn, Jon made sure the life changing moment would exceed her greatest expectations. Knowing that she wanted to visit Beacon, NY, Jon planned an end-of-summer trip to the picturesque upstate city. Their itinerary started with a scenic Saturday morning hike up Mount Beacon. It was suppose to be a relaxing start to the day, but Jon’s pace suggested otherwise. Madalyn remembers, “He was practically racing up the mountain!”
