Ask anyone who has gone through the process, figuring out the seating plan is one of the most brain-racking tasks of wedding planning. Unfortunately, once you have the plan mapped out on paper, there are still more details to consider in this area – specifically, the manner in which your guests will be guided to their seats. Typically, an escort card table or seating chart is used as decorative place marker, welcoming everyone to the reception while instructing them to where they should go and settle into for the rest of the night. The main goals of the escort card table and seating chart are to maintain visual interest, usher seamless flow from Part 1 to Part 2 of the event, and provide clear seating information. Unsure of which option is best for you? We are here to help.

Your reception is going to be the longest part of your wedding. From the decor details to the furniture, how you choose to display your tablescape will have a huge impact on the tone of the evening. While long, communal tables have been used for lavish royal affairs throughout history, they provide a relaxed and flexible setting for today’s couples to work with. And that dreaded task of putting together the seating chart? Compared to smaller round tables, they are easier to arrange guests in a way so that everyone feels equally welcome. Basically, you wont be faced with the question, “Who are we going to put at the far corner table?”

When it comes to wedding cakes these days, taste is just one of the factors that couples consider when deciding on what to serve their guests. Now more than ever, natural flowers and greenery are replacing the traditional cake topper to create fresh, one-of-kind designs. We always get excited when our couples ask us to set aside elements from their floral theme to decorate their wedding cake. Gotham Hall will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was one of the first major venues in New York City that Bride & Blossom had the pleasure to decorate back in 2011. Built in 1924 when it served as The Greenwich Savings Bank, the space radiates timeless New York elegance from floor to ceiling. What makes Gotham Hall so remarkable from a wedding florist’s standpoint is that despite the distinctive atmosphere, the venue caters to a myriad of décor styles ranging from classic to whimsical to modern.

Part 4: Reception, Guest Card Display and Centerpieces

The evening festivities commenced with cocktail hour. Guests mingled, enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, and raised the first of many toasts to the newlyweds. Afterward, everyone returned to Gotham Hall’s Grand Ballroom where they were greeted with a card display made of two walls decorated with greenery and flowers. Stefanie and Mike enlisted Ceci New York to put a personal touch on all of their wedding stationery. “We loved collaborating with Pejy Kash to bring Stefanie and Mike’s classic and timeless vision for their invitations to life,” the luxury wedding invitation designer remarks. “When it comes to the day of accessories, we always love a floral, so when Pejy asked us to create something inspired by Bride & Blossom’s floral design for the day, we were in. We created beautiful floral tags using our signature Ceci Floral Watercolor, each had the guests name hand calligraphed. It was a perfect combination, and for us it’s all in the details!”
