Breathtaking Floral Ceilings

Nothing quite takes your breath away like walking beneath a sky of levitated blooms. Ethereal and whimsical, a floral ceiling is the most dramatic way to transform a space and is guaranteed to wow your guests.

So how are floral ceilings actually constructed?

“The ease of the on-site installation process really depends on the venue and what we have to work with,” explains Creative Director Lindsay Saltz, “Some venues have the perfect ceilings to attach wires and other necessary mechanics to…and others not so much. But once we get going and develop a rhythm, the actual hanging of the flowers becomes fairly easy. We mostly rely on wires and string to create a hanging treatment or chandelier.”

Melanie and Graig – Sophisticated Simplicity at Tribeca Rooftop

Melanie and Graig first met in October 2005, as they were leaving the bar PS450 in Kips Bay. Melanie gave Graig her business card before scurrying into a cab home with her friends.  They exchanged only occasional emails over the next ten years, even after discovering a mutual friend (a friend of Melanie’s and also Graig’s sister) suggested to them separately that they go out on a date – they never listened.  Finally, Graig’s sister approached Melanie at the friend’s wedding, exclaiming, Can you just go out with my brother already? to which Melanie replied with, Go tell him I say hi!  So at last, a decade after making one another’s acquaintance, Greg got Melanie’s number and asked her out on a date!  After that it was as if they had known each other forever…or 10 years!

A Bachelorette Bash at Bride & Blossom

Bride-to-be Sarah and her best girlfriends celebrated her upcoming wedding by learning about floral design at the Bride and Blossom studio. The girls created vibrant arrangements with stunning shades of pink roses, peonies, tulips, and accents of lush greenery.

The class was guided by our Wedding Coordinator, Lauren Fernandez.  “Teaching and floral design are my two passions, so it was an absolute pleasure teaching the girls how to create an arrangement,” she says, “They did an amazing job! I loved how each arrangement was unique even though all the girls had the same flowers and vase. That’s my favorite part of floral design!

Audrey Hepburn’s Ring of Roses

Audrey Hepburn married Mel Ferrer in a tea-length flared Balmain* dress with satin puffed sleeves and elbow length gloves, accompanied by a stunningly simple crown of roses. (*Yes, that’s the same Balmain responsible for Kim and Kanye’s cyborgian armor at this year’s Met Gala!)
