Nhung and George began dating in August 2018. Although they met through Bumble, Nhung remembers the spark that kicked off their relationship as feeling natural and effortless, like when two strangers meet and know they’re going to be lifelong friends. “We are so different but also alike. We both have a great sense of humor and style, but George is messy and I’m neat,” she says. “We balance each other in ways we never knew we both needed.”

While many couples plan elaborate, social media-ready proposals, Nhung and George approached their engagement with the same relaxed, easy-going attitude that brought them together. The event took place on April Fool’s Day 2023 while they were on vacation in Turks & Caicos. “George isn’t the most romantic let’s just say that,” Nhung jokingly admits. “So, we planned for him to ask at sunset.” With some time to kill before popping the question, he took a quick dip in the ocean while she waited on the beach with the ring.

A Look Back At The Real BB Weddings Of 2022

To say that 2022 has been an unprecedented year for weddings would be an understatement. It was predicted that more couples would say “I Do” in 2022 than in any other year since 1984. While exact numbers aren’t in yet, our sense is that we’re close to hitting the mark. As wedding florists, we saw firsthand how getting married in a post-pandemic moment influenced our clients’ decisions. Perhaps it had to do with the slowing down and reflection that happened during 2020-2021, but couples were more willing than ever before to take risks and be creative when it came to flowers and decor, attire, food, and entertainment. Expectations about everything being ‘perfect’ gave way to being fully present during this once-in-a-lifetime event. While many of the weddings we are about to highlight look spectacular on an aesthetic level, upon further inspection, you will see that they are speckled with unique and meaningful details that are a sincere expression of the couple’s love and personality. Caroline & Ben: An Amalfi Coast Inspired Celebration at Liberty Warehouse

Caroline and Ben first met in 2015 when they both were working for a tech start-up in New York City. “Ben was my on-board buddy. He welcomed me to the company environment and my role within it,” Caroline remembers. They became fast friends, often going to lunch and happy hour together. “We were both in relationships at the time. Everything was work related, but there was always an underlying feeling that this could be more. Those romantic feelings were finally addressed that following summer.” Not yet on the same page of what they wanted in terms of a relationship, they dated on and off for the following six months. In an age where dating apps play instant matchmaker, their long, more traditional courtship comes across as refreshing. “Looking back, this period helped build the relationship that Ben and I have now,” Caroline says. “We had been colleagues, friends, then ‘more than friends.’ By the time we were ready to commit, we knew each other inside and out.”
