Featured Venue: The Village Club of Sands Point

Since the beginnings of Bride & Blossom, we have had the privilege of working with so many extraordinary venues, ranging from intimate urban spaces like Studio 450 to sprawling rustic-romantic landscapes like Blue Hill at Stone Barns. One of our favorite locations by far has been the Village Club of Sands Point, at 1916 Italian Renaissance-style mansion built in upstate NY by Issac Guggenheim.

What makes this space special is not only its inherent beauty, but its ability to be completely transformed into an absolute fairytale with the right touches. Our mother-of-the-bride said it best: “You all not only met, but exceeded our expectations for the day! You transformed the Village Club of Sands Point Mansion, which is already a beautiful setting for a wedding, into something that was magical and truly memorable.”

Classic Romance in Red Hook

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with one of our new favorite photographers, Le Image, at one of our all-time favorite venues, The Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn. With such a great team assembled, there was no doubt that bride Delaine Duncan’s wedding was going to be exceptionally stunning.

A simple color palette of monochromatic whites, with accents of subtle greenery and the occasional red rose, created a mood that carried through the evening. From details like the delicate lace wrap on the bride’s bouquet to the unique floral arch we constructed for the ceremony, the day was picture-perfect from beginning to end.

A Bride & Blossom Love Story

lavender round rose bouquet

NOTE: I asked our Creative Director Lindsay to share the story behind her romantic wedding photos. We always love to share our brides’ love stories, but this one is very close to our hearts! – Rachel

I remember Rachel emailing me about this good friend of hers I “had to meet.” I almost said no because of a series of bad blind dates but something told me to meet him. We met outside a restaurant in the city and he was standing there waiting for me with his headphones on. I
thought that was funny because we didn’t know each other so I could have been walking around calling his name and he wouldn’t have known. Immediately something clicked and even though I was nervous, I felt so comfortable with him. I’ll always have such a vivid and special memory of that night. I think I was smiling the entire train ride home.

Natural Beauty at Liberty Warehouse

floral ceremony arch by agaton strom

Romantic flowers and rustic touches struck a perfect balance at this Brooklyn waterfront wedding.  You might remember bride Jennifer’s natural, dimensional bouquet from this recent bouquet recipe featuring blush La Perla roses, cream dahlias and cascading jasmine vines.

Vows took place under a stunning, squared archway of curly willow branches, adorned with cascading greenery and studded with clusters of roses and hydrangea. As with the bouquet, the look was natural and rustic with lots of dimension and texture.

Mason jars, accented with burlap and navy-blue satin ribbon, held simple clusters of baby’s breath to decorate chairs. Wooden boxes held lush blooms for low reception-table centerpieces.

Black & White Stripes at Maritime Parc

Maritime Parc Wedding CLY by Matthew

Wedding style is all in the details. For Jennifer and Dan’s romantic day at New Jersey’s Maritime Parc, striking black and white striped ribbons accented lush, white and cream wedding flowers. Crisp stripes against soft florals set this celebration apart. Gorgeous bride Jennifer shared her love story and decor inspiration with us.

These days, love often begins with online dating, but for this couple, business networking turned into a modern meet-cute. “The story of how we met is pretty unique,” Jennifer told us.  “I had just graduated business school and was spending a lot of time online looking for a job. I came across Dan on Linkedin in the ‘People You May Know’ section. We had a few mutual friends in the media world. He saw I looked at his profile and started emailing me. The emails turned into a first date, and the rest is history!”

Aisle Style: Floral Arches in Twirl New York’s New Fall Issue

ceremony-floral-decor-twirl-ny-fall

Two of our most romantic ceremony designs appear in Twirl New York’s new issue.

For an enchanting, Brooklyn waterfront wedding, an arch of wisteria and curly willow (#3) held decadent clusters of pink, cream and white flowers. Ruskus vines, entwined with dendrobium orchids trailed down the arch’s side to a moss base. Kris Rae’s beautiful photo captures the garden-like, natural concept of our design, as well as a moment of pure joy and love.

A rustic-branch chuppah (#5), adorned with  the lushest, white hydrangea blossoms, framed a traditional Jewish ceremony at a decadent, Hudson-Valley wedding, photographed by Ryan Brenizer. Aisle Style is a must-see if you’re looking for wedding inspiration – so many gorgeous, creative ideas for walking down the isle of your dreams. Read and download the whole Fall 2015 issue of Twirl NY, and see more from these weddings below.
