Few wedding venues in New York City offer access to a modern, cosmopolitan experience amidst landmark surroundings representing a history and tradition that can be traced back to generations before. Tribeca Rooftop + Tribeca 360° is situated along an old cobblestone street tucked away in the heart of Tribeca’s downtown neighborhood. Housed in a printing press building from the 1920s, it has been fully renovated into a chic industrial event space highlighted by a soaring glass atrium, impressive glass window walls, and a rooftop complete with breathtaking views of Manhattan’s skyline. The melding of old and new, endless natural light, and a sky high outdoor terrace makes working at Tribeca Rooftop + Tribeca 360° a wedding florist’s dream come true.

The classic wedding dress will always have a place in our heart. There is a canon of amazing designers who, season after season, turn out gowns that meet the criteria of what a wedding dress ‘should’ be – beautiful, timeless, and white. But for this post, we have decided to focus our attention in a new direction. If the last year has taught us anything, it is that the terms ‘normal’ and ‘traditional’ no longer apply and wearing what makes you feel alive, joyful, and of course gorgeous is what really matters. And if there is a day to wear something that allows you to truly live it up and express your best self outside and in, it is on your wedding day.

Ask anyone who has gone through the process, figuring out the seating plan is one of the most brain-racking tasks of wedding planning. Unfortunately, once you have the plan mapped out on paper, there are still more details to consider in this area – specifically, the manner in which your guests will be guided to their seats. Typically, an escort card table or seating chart is used as decorative place marker, welcoming everyone to the reception while instructing them to where they should go and settle into for the rest of the night. The main goals of the escort card table and seating chart are to maintain visual interest, usher seamless flow from Part 1 to Part 2 of the event, and provide clear seating information. Unsure of which option is best for you? We are here to help.

‘Colorful minimalism’ sounds like a contradiction of terms, especially when it comes to wedding style. We completely understand if you are most comfortable in a uniform of black, white, and if you are feeling a little adventurous, beige. Color, however, is tied to emotion. And one of the most emotional days in one’s life is their wedding. Incorporating color doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice personal style or step way out of your comfort zone though. Actually, a dash of color, when applied thoughtfully and creatively, will complement your minimalist aesthetic, making it feel more special and expressive during this once-in-a-lifetime event. Let these ideas for adding color into your wedding help guide you in brightening up your big day.

If anything, planning a wedding during a global pandemic gives leeway for a couple to make out-of-the-box choices. As COVID-19 forced Cara and Vince to reconsider their original vision, they found themselves putting together a day full of personal touches. “We wanted a more nontraditional ceremony,” the bride says. They even opted not to have a standard wedding party. “At the end, we wanted everything to feel very intimate with just us standing at the arch.” Here, Cara talks about exchanging heartfelt vows in front of their closest friends and family.

“I’ve always loved wedding dresses that most would describe as ‘old-fashioned,’” BB Featured Bride Cara says. “As a young girl, I was the one who marveled at a set of pearls rather than diamonds.” Even with her bridal style in clear view, Cara was surprised when she ultimately decided on what she was going to wear down the aisle – a breathtaking ball gown by Pronovias. Here, she shares her ‘say yes to the dress’ moment and details about her bridal personals.

Part 2: Wedding Dress & Personals

The original plan was for Cara, along with her closest and most trusted confidents, to make a trip to Manhattan for a fun-filled weekend of wedding dress shopping. With COVID-19 making traveling any distance difficult, she decided to stay local and browse the boutiques in the Philadelphia area. “My Mom, two sisters, niece, Grandma, best-friend, and mother-in-law were able to come with me, so the experience still felt very special,” she recalls. “We made a day of it, renting a limousine and enjoying a nice, relaxing lunch in between shopping.”
