Following the Muslim ceremony, the reception was the final event before guests saw Nailah and Hasan off to their new married life together. “Those who were able to join us really helped make the day so special,” Nailah recalls. “And those who weren’t able to join were there in spirit or through ZOOM!” Here, she shares the final chapter in her and Hasan’s Real BB Wedding Story.

Part 4: Reception

Post-ceremony festivities commenced with guests enjoying hors d’oeuvres of traditional Indian fare by Moghul Catering as the tented area was being prepared for dinner. “There is that family aspect – both my parents and I still live in parts of the building. We are at The Foundry every day and consider it our home.” For The Foundry’s Managing Director Allison Du Val, running one of New York City’s premier event venues is much more than just a job. She grew up in The Foundry, skipping through the building’s maze-like corridors and exploring its raw grounds daily. Over the next two decades, she watched the former metal foundry, which was also her home, transform into a captivating space for hosting weddings and exclusive parities. Never losing the awe and wonder that filled her imagination as a child, Allison deeply understands and cares about the history, character, and spirit of the building.

From the dress and shoes to hairstyle and manicure, every detail of the bride’s ensemble is an expression of her unique style. Personal expression is the one thing that we regular folk have in common with princesses, A-list actresses, and influencers when it comes to saying ‘I Do.’ Personal expression cannot be bought for a high price tag – it is part of you and comes from within.

While we love talking about gowns and accessories, nothing gets us more excited than the topic of wedding bouquets. We could go on for hours about the fresh, sophisticated romance of Priyanka Chopra’s ribbon accented arrangement. Since many of our clients have celebrity wedding photos pinned to their vision boards, we thought it would be fun to highlight the famous brides whose bouquets captured our eyes, hearts, and imaginations over the last near seventy years.

Imagine being met by lush florals and greenery with every step you take down the aisle. Going big with ceremony pathway décor was a major emerging trend last year with our brides. Scattered rose petals and candles (which are absolutely beautiful!) were given over to flourishing, natural arrangements that looked like a garden in full bloom. Aptly described as a ‘living’ aisle, these show-stopping scenes captivate the eye to no end. Our client proposals for the upcoming wedding season indicate that this floral love affair is here to stay. From wildly romantic to prim and polished, here are décor ideas for making the big walk all you dreamed of and more.

When Pantone named “Classic Blue” as its 2020 Color of the Year, we, admittedly, had mixed emotions. From a floral designer’s standpoint, the announcement presented quite a challenge as there are very few flowers that are naturally blue. At the same time, blue is a timeless, versatile, and emotionally charged color – qualities that make it a perfect fit for weddings. This notion is furthered when we consider what Pantone said in support of its choice.

Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold to a new era.
